B2 listening: detail, implication, register

Some B2 listening marks are earned not by hearing words but by hearing what hides behind them. That is the harder half of the épreuve — the exam paper itself — and it asks three things of you: to find a specific condition buried in administrative phrasing, to catch an implication the speaker leaves hanging, and to judge register, the level of formality a voice adopts — is it familiar, neutral, ironic? Lesson 01 trained you to catch the frame and the stance; this one trains you to hear what sits underneath them.

This lesson builds three reflexes:

• Conditions and exclusions. À l'exclusion de…, sauf…, dont le bail a été signé après… — B2 loves eligibility rules. Slow the mental replay at every restrictive word.
• What is meant but not said. Avant que quelqu'un d'autre décide à ma place is not small talk; it is information about power slipping away.
• Register as signal. Ouais alors… comment dire… tells you familiar-critical before any content arrives; un tarif pédagogiquement élevé is irony doing the work of a confession.

The protocol is the same as in lesson 01: you answer from the audio alone, the transcript appears only after you have committed, and the wrong options are built from words you really heard.
