Radio news has a fixed anatomy, and the B2 exam exploits it. A flash opens with l'attaque du sujet — the main information compressed into the first sentence (La SNCF annonce la suppression de trois cents dessertes régionales). Everything after it is development: causes invoked, reactions quoted, figures qualified. Two question families map onto this anatomy:
- Idée principale — Quelle est l'information principale ? The answer lives in the attack, reformulated. Distractors recycle the development: a reaction (les élus dénoncent…) is not the news itself.
- Détail cité — Pourquoi… ? Quel détail… ? Now the attack is useless; the answer is one precise element further in (ce chiffre inclut les radiations administratives).
The trap to respect: le détail-piège. Wrong options quote words you genuinely heard — deux pour cent, dix jours de grève — attached to the wrong claim. Hearing the words is not hearing the message; check what the sentence did with them. During the first listening, tag each item mentally: is this asking for the attack, or for one buried fact? Your grid from CO-01 already holds the attack; the second listening is for the buried facts only.
