Sound drill: closed é versus open è

P45.pronunciation-drills.03 · Audience: guest, language-pro, it-ml · Prerequisites: Sound drill: the /ø/ and /œ/ vowels

Unité PO-05 · campagne 4 · parlé is not parlais.

Closed é (été) is tight; open è (mère) is wider. Mixing them muddies your verb endings — parlé and parlais land differently to a French ear. Record the model and check the two e's separately.

Say: J'ai parlé à ma mère cet été.
