Spaced reminders: rules, exceptions, exceptions of exceptions

French grammar is not hard because the rules are hard. It is hard because every rule travels with an exception, and the exception with its own exception: negation turns du into de — except with être — except that definite articles never budge at all. Knowing the rule is not the skill; keeping the whole chain warm is.

This page does two things.

The daily card set. A small deck — never a wall — of rule, exception and exception-of-exception cards. The ordering is personal: whatever your notice-loop error profile says is weakest surfaces first, and a card you miss returns sooner. Cards you keep getting right space themselves out — a day, three days, a week, three weeks, two months, then six months.

Mini-lessons. Short rule units — one chain each. Work through one, mark it complete; every three to five completed lessons arms a checkpoint (next page) that verifies the chains actually stuck before you move on.
