Final sweep of the method. Accents done, agreements done — pass 3 reads every verb ending in the copy and asks one question per verb: is this the right form for this person, this tense, this construction?

The star check is -er versus -é, the highest-frequency ending error in French copies at every level. The test: substitute a third-group verb like vendre. « Il faut signaler le problème » → il faut vendre works, so infinitive, -er. « Les clients ont commencé à protester » → ont vendre is impossible, ont vendu works, so past participle, -é. The substitution decides in two seconds what the ear alone cannot, since -er and -é sound identical.

Two more checks finish the pass. Person endings: vous takes -ez — « vous trouverez ci-joint… », never trouverer. And the formal-letter classic « je vous serez reconnaissant »: the subject is je, so serais (or serai) — the vous sitting between them is a decoy.

Three passes, three families, five minutes: that is the entire relecture budget of your exam copy, and it routinely buys back one to two points on the language half of the grid. The practice drills the substitutions until they run without thinking.
