Y covered à + thing; its mirror is en, the pronoun for everything built on de. Three jobs, one pronoun:

1. Partitives and indefinites. Tu veux du café ? — Non merci, je n'en veux pas. Des questions ? Elle en pose toujours.
2. Quantities — with the number restated. Tu as des frères ? — Oui, j'en ai deux. Combien de langues parle-t-elle ? — Elle en parle trois. Dropping the number (j'en ai) changes the meaning; en holds the noun's place, the quantity must be said again.
3. De-complements of verbs and adjectives. Se souvenir de, parler de, avoir besoin de, être fier de — when the complement is a thing: ce voyage ? Nous nous en souvenons très bien ; son travail ? Il en est fier.

And the same person-boundary you learned for y applies here: when the de-complement is a person, careful written French prefers de + tonic pronoun — elle parle souvent d'elle (her sister), je me souviens de lui — rather than en.

Notice the pattern across the two units: things compress to a clitic before the verb (y, en); people keep their preposition and a tonic pronoun after it. The items below run all three jobs of en plus the person trap.
