The daily notice-your-mistakes loop

P51.notice-and-review.01 · Audience: guest, language-pro, it-ml · Prerequisites: The initial four-axis assessment

Five years of immersion did not fix your recurring errors, because fluency lets you talk past them: everyone understands you, nobody corrects you, and you cannot hear yourself making them. The hardest skill in this discipline is noticing your own mistake at the moment you produce it — and that skill is trained, not wished for.

The loop is short and daily:

  1. Produce. A small real-production prompt — describe, refuse, argue. Three or four sentences of your own French, not a fill-in-the-blank.
  2. See the gap. Your text comes back next to a target version, with each difference flagged.
  3. Name it. Every error lands in a category — article, gender-agreement, pronoun, third-plural, liaison-élision — building your personal error profile. The profile drives everything downstream: which reminder cards you see, what the checkpoints probe.
  4. Re-attempt. Rewrite until clean. Success here is not "no red marks" — it is the moment you catch yourself before the mark appears.

Ten minutes. Every day. That cadence is the treatment; this page is just the equipment.
