L'épreuve de CE : deux textes, une heure

Like its listening twin, the DELF B2 reading épreuve rewards familiarity before skill. The machine: two texts, one hour. Exercice 1 is a texte informatif about France or the francophone world; exercice 2 is a texte argumentatif — longer, denser, and worth more of your attention.

Four rules that convert into points:

1. The order is yours. Nothing obliges you to follow the livret. If opinion questions cost you time, open with the argumentative text while your concentration is fresh.
2. Questions follow the text. As in listening, question 5's answer sits after question 4's in the document. Read the questions first: they are a free map of the text's structure.
3. Vrai/faux + justification is one block. A correct vrai with a wrong quotation scores zero. Find the sentence first, decide vrai/faux from it second — never from memory.
4. Global questions come last for a reason. Title choice, author's intention — park them until the detailed questions have forced you through the whole text; by then they are nearly free.
