Before writing a single argument, know exactly what the DELF B2 production écrite buys points with. The task is a prise de position — a stance text of at least 250 mots, usually framed as a letter to a courrier des lecteurs, a formal letter, or a contribution to an online débat. The 250 is a floor, not a target: land under it and you bleed respect de la consigne points before anyone reads your ideas.

The grading grid splits your mark into two halves that are scored separately:

1. Content — respect de la consigne, capacité à argumenter, cohérence et cohésion. A clear thesis, ordered arguments, visible connectors.
2. Language — étendue du lexique, grammaire, orthographe. This is where your relecture passes (PE-10 to PE-12) pay their rent.

The single most expensive misunderstanding: announcing « je vais présenter le pour et le contre » and never landing anywhere. The genre demands a position, announced early and held to the end — neutrality is a consigne violation, not prudence.
