Monologue suivi: present and defend a viewpoint
P45.speaking-to-b2.01 · Audience: guest, language-pro, it-ml · Prerequisites: Vowels & nasals you can now say
The pronunciation track fixed the sounds. This is the other half of Production orale: discourse — the B2 monologue suivi, where you take a position on a question and defend it for a few minutes, alone, without notes. The DELF examiner is not counting your accent here; they are marking whether you present and defend a viewpoint with structure, connectors, range and control — exactly the five things this rung scores.
You record a monologue; the app recognises it and returns three things: the speech-to-text of what you said (so you can see exactly what the analysis is based on), a delivery signal (fluency, prosody) from the speech runtime, and a B2 rubric — a band on each of task, coherence, range, accuracy and register — from the oral coach. The copy sent for scoring is recognised, scored, then discarded server-side; nothing is stored — but you can play back and save your own recording locally, on your device, to hear how you sounded.
Shape it like the épreuve. A B2 monologue is not a list of opinions — it is an argument:
- Announce your position in one sentence. Selon moi... / Je suis convaincu(e) que...
- Two or three arguments, each with an example. Chain them: d'une part... d'autre part..., de plus, en revanche, c'est pourquoi.
- Concede and refute one objection — this is what pushes a monologue from B1 to B2. Certes... mais..., on pourrait objecter que..., pourtant...
- Conclude by restating the position, widened. En somme... / Il me semble donc que...

Can't record right now — no microphone, or offline? Use Can't record? on any prompt: type a short outline and the rubric still grades it, or rate yourself against the B2 points above. Either way the attempt counts toward your Production orale progress.
